Rhythm

This week in interior design we learned about the principle of design, rhythm. Rhythm carries the eye from place to place in a room. Three types of rhythm are repetition, radiation, and gradation. 

 1. Repetition-  the repetitive use of an element 
Repetition is used above by using the same colors in the the pillows and it is used below with use of the multiple paintings.  


2. Radiation- establishes a sweeping circular motion 
Radiation is used in both because of the circular shape of the room.
3. Gradation- the changing of one element to the next
Gradation is used in the room above with the use of the ombre wall shifting the colors from light to dark. It is used in the room below with the tiles changing color.
